From August 5 to October 2, in the small exhibition hall of the Liepāja Museum at 16/18 Kūrmāja Ave., the personal exhibition of the painter Liene Bernāte "In God's Land" will be available for viewing.
The name of the exhibition – "Dievzemītē" ("In God's Land") – denotes the place where the artist created her works – Courland, special place, home, fatherland. The very name shows that it has a special aura and the great love of the people for the place.
The painter sees and captures Courland in a scenic way. In her works, she talks about the poetry of nature, the beauty of the moment – the color relations between the sky, earth, and water, but in her paintings, she looks for tonality. The cycle of paintings includes all seasons – winter, spring, summer, and autumn. In the artworks, exhibition visitors will be able to recognize places in Courland – Lieģi, Līguti, and Liepāja beach.
The exhibition includes works created from 2019 to 2022, in compliance with the time constraints of the pandemic.
